Soft black padded paws bounced through the familiar yet ever changing lands of Kumari. She had been gone for almost four seasons now. She had left just before fall had come and as she returned to see the same scenery it was although she had never left.

Happily she made her way through the forest. Her dark iridescent fur shone as the setting sun caused the sky to burst into color. It was her favorite time of day as she threw her head back to set her emerald eyes upon the sight.

She had yet to locate her father or her brother. She wondered if Cayden would be upset she left so soon after he returned. They had not spent much time together and he had yet to learn of her wandering ways but she did not fret. They were siblings after all and she trusted that he would understand the need for her to try and find their missing sister and a mother, she barely remembered.

As she progressed she came across one of the many small streams that riddled the forest. She had traveled for quite some bit and decided to take a break to watch the sky change. She bowed her head to water to drink and then lay her body on the grass. The leaves were subtly beginning to change as the early signs of Autumn were setting in. ' It's good to be home. ' she thought.

The early evening gave way to cooler temperatures across the land. The eve would only be a few degrees cooler than the remainder of the day, meaning that most prey would be out later rather than sooner. It helped their cause with the days still longer than the nights for now. In a months time there would be less daylight to aid lesser mammals in their quest for nourishment before their enemies awoke and gave prowl. One of such enemies was lurking her way through the forest. Gliding effortlessly around trees and shrubs. Thick paw pads helped muffle the sound she would have otherwise made upon the land.

The leather at the tip of her snout twitched as she followed the trail, in search of something or someone. Ears that typically stayed erect on her crown shifted and listened to her surroundings with every move she made. Every so often the phantom would stop in her tracks, head lifting from the ground and careening from side to side in an attempt to listen and look at her surroundings. She was on the hunt, not for prey but for family. Cayden had only given her a nudge when he asked for her to find his sisters, she had already planned to find them one way or another. It came down to tracking any canine scent she came across now a days. A few had lead her to pack boarders which she had to bide her time to see whom it belonged to while others belonged to a rogue.

The scent she had been following for over a day and she was gaining on the creature as each step the scent grew stronger. It was female, which gave her mild hope it might be one of her children. As she ascended a hill she could hear a body laying down next to the water bed. This was her chance and with being downwind it gave her the opportunity to spy upon the dame before making any contact should she wish to. Once at the top of the slight hill, she looked down upon another obsidian lady. At first it looked like every other black wolf that crossed her path; it would be the tell tail sign of iridescent fur that gave her daughter away for who she truly was.

Eclipse's heart leapt in her chest at finally finding two children. In the beginning Maylin had been close to her mother. Would this be the case after all of these years or would she harbor the same ill will as her brother did? Only time will tell. The woman descended the hill towards the stream, practically holding her breath as she did. This time she made sure to make noise so to give her location away to her daughter. At least there would be no fighting for scraps.

"I hope you do not mind me here grabbing a drink. I am rather parched from my trek."

Words flowed from her lips as softly as silk while she meandered towards the water. Obsidian eyes lightened to a violet hue as she looked to her daughter while lowering her head to the stream. A salmon colored tongue whipped out and lapped along the waters surface before returning to her mouth. She was not at all thirst and therefore only took a few drinks. Once finished, her head turned as she looked towards the girl. Would she recognize her mother after all of these years or would this be reunion filled with anger and hate? Only time would tell and Eclipse was waiting as patient as she could to find out.

The breeze moved through her fur as the familiar scent of home began to fill her nostrils. She was eager to see her father and brother again. She had wondered if they had made any progress in their relationship. Cayden was so angry when she first met him, she wondered if it were possible for him look past that and make amends.

Amidst her private thoughts she was suddenly disturbed by the appearance of another wolf. Maylin blinked and looked at the wolf, taking in her scent and appearance. There was something about her, Maylin stared for probably what was considered to long to be polite before she spoke.

" Please help yourself. " she said intrigued her emerald eyes scanning her looking for something to trigger a memory, some glimmer of recognition as to who this female was. She seemed so familiar yet Maylin could not place her. It was infuriating.

" Was your trek long? " she asked wondering if she had come across her before in her travels or if she was from Kumari although she knew most people from these lands but it was possible they had met before. Maylin just struggled to place her and her scent.

She looked down at the gentle rippling water thinking this wolf must of found her staring strange. " I'm sorry. " she said embarrassed. " I can't help but feel like we have met before. " she explained hoping that she could explain this strange feeling that she had and couldn't seem to shake.

" Have we met before? " she asked curiously hoping that she would remember if they had an encounter before. She licked around her muzzle to remove the dampness from her whiskers. Her eyes finding it hard to break away from the sight of the wolf before her.

Her violet gaze watched the young girl as she assessed this stranger before her. Eclipse could only imagine what was going through her mind but it all seemed to be "Who is this who stands before me?" "It has been a long journey, but it is not over yet.." The iridescent shadow spoke to the girl who practically mirrored her in looks save for those emerald eyes that were bestowed upon her by her father.

Tassel flicked behind her idly as she allowed the girl to continue to star, albeit, a long time. Letting her piece together the puzzle pieces her mind was missing. When Maylin spoke again, it was to apologize for being so rude to stare for so long. Many were enamored by the woman's appearance but few rarely seemed so taken as to constantly stare. The difference was, none of them were her children. "Yes, we have. A very long time ago, many years actually. You were just a babe when I last saw you." Eclipse spoke slowly in hopes of jogging a memory within her daughters mind that might trigger some sort of reaction other than anger.

"The last time I saw you was before your father came and brought you back here.." The damsel gave out finally, ears furled back along her skull as she spoke what she believed would be the one thing to trigger Maylin's memories; or so she hoped it would. So much time had passed, perhaps the girl had purged such memories from her mind only to replace them with lies in order to aide in her sleep at night. A slight whine left the mothers maw as her own tongue swept out along her lips. She wanted to rush her daughter, to embrace her only the way she could. The pain and joy was overwhelming that she could not contain it fully. "Please remember me.." was all she could think and hope that her daughter could hear the silent plea.

The wolf confirmed her suspicions that they had in fact met before and it was both a relief and and irritant. There was a part of her that recognized the woman but she struggled to make the connection. Even now as the woman admitted to knowing her she still failed to realize who she was.

She cocked her head to the side ever so slightly. Maybe seeing her from another angle would trigger a memory or she would suddenly recognize her. At first she thought she was a wolf who was aa friend of her father's maybe, left for whatever reason. But she couldn't of been more wrong.

" Before I was brought here... but.. " suddenly the pieces all fell into place. It wasn't familiarity, it was resemblance, but those eyes, she remembered those eyes now. She recalled a time before Kumari. Her father was gone but her Mother was there, her mother who she had not seen since her father had brought her back to these lands.

She rose from the ground and her ears, once perched on top of her head were now back but there was no anger, no resentment there. Only shock and disbelief. She did not believe it possible that after all this time her mother would be here of all places.

" Mother? Mom? " she asked not entirely certain what she should call her. She carefully stepped forward bridging the gap between Mother and Daughter but cautious still. " How.. How are you here? Does Dad know? Does Cayden know? " she asked wondering how they would react if they knew she was here.

Then a thought rushed to the forefront of her mind. Her tail sprung up along with her ears in excitement. " Is Mikayla with you? Is she here? " she asked glancing around wondering if she had trailed behind or was keeping her distance. The thought of her family together in one place brought her more joy then she could of ever known and her very essence exuded joy in that moment.

She smiled at her Mother and she could finally appreciate how much they looked alike. She was like a smaller version of her mother only with emerald eyes instead of violet. She felt bad for having not recognized her before considering she had spent so much time looking for her and Mikayla. But that didn't matter now, she was here and she could stop searching.

Time stood still for Eclipse as she watched her daughter finally put everything in its place. The realization that her mother was standing right in front of her would be a memory the phantom would never forget, the same as the memory of Blaze taking them away from her. Front paws danced upon the forest floor as she stayed in her place begrudgingly. She wanted to rush her daughter all at once. Now was not the time for that. Maylin needed to make her way over to her and accept what she saw long before Eclipse could try to make any grounds in forging a relationship with her.

"Yes.." She said with a whine as her daughter questioned if it was her or not. Then came the questions as to whether or not Blaze and Cayden knew. "Your father knows.. Cayden.." She paused, bobbing her head back and forth as she thought of a way to explain. "He knows as well but he is less accepting of the fact for now.." She said finally as there was no need to hide the truth from Maylin, or anyone for that matter unless she had to. Ears fell back along her skull as the young girl brought up Mikayla. Eclipse thought that she was here some where but was she not? The way Maylin looked around her as if the runt would suddenly appear. "Mikayla is not with me.. I thought she was here with everyone else?" The iridescent woman questioned and her voice dropped in disappointment. Not in her daughter, but in herself. None of this would have happened had it not been for her.

Two of her children were here, it would be up to her to find the third. She was not dead, that much she knew. There was a bond between mother and child, especially one with magical blood coursing through ones veins. Eclipse would find the girl and hopefully bring her back here. "I will find her Maylin, I promise you, I will find her." The mother spoke surely and without fear; she'd be damned if one more thing got in her way of finding all of her children safe and sound. Even if not all of them wanted her around.

To say that she wasn't disappointed to hear that her sister Mikayla was missing and alone would of been a lie. But it was only a small damper on the moment between mother and daughter. She was not surprised to hear that Cayden was unhappy at her return. He was such an angry individual that she suspected their mother's return would of made him less then jubilant.

She moved slowly toward her mother, with each step taking in more of her mother's form. Her mother's coat shone much like her own. It was uncanny. Maylin never felt like she looked much like her father except for her eyes so it was like seeing where she truly came from when she looked at her. Who she would become, a mirror into her future.

Her mother made a sincere promise to her to find Mikayla and her ears dropped as did her smile. " You are going to stay for a while though right? Or I could help you? I was looking for her before. " Maylin had only just discovered her mother and the last thing she wanted was for her to disappear again. It was selfish on her part but she wanted to know her Mother, find out who she was for herself.

Having closed the gap between her and her mother, she circled her slowly taking in every inch of her. Being close now she could feel her mother's emotions coming off of her in waves and the overwhelming urge her mother felt to hold her. She brushed against her affectionately, nuzzling into her with her tail wagging in happiness.

She knew other members of her family were less then pleased at her mother's sudden return but Maylin obviously felt differently. She had never resented her father for taking her from her siblings and mother. He felt he was doing what was best and his intentions were pure.

But she had always wondered about her mother and she was slightly envious of her siblings who spent more time with her. But she had gotten to be raised in Kumari with her father whom she loved dearly. But now she would have her chance to know her mother and she couldn't of been happier at the prospect.

Violet eyes lightened as she followed her daughters movement, taking the time to see how much she had grown into a beautiful woman. It was a shame that she had missed out on watching her grow but, the girl was a fine specimen to behold. Eclipse felt her daughter brush against her and in turn, she leaned back into her; head turning to nuzzle against her daughters head. There was so much that she had missed but having her children so close to her could never be forgotten.

"I will be staying for as long as I am welcomed. In the mean time I will search for Mikayla.." She spoke and decided how to tell Maylin that she wanted to find the smallest child that she would like to search alone. If she found Mikayla with Maylin there, she did not want Mikayla to feel as though they were ganging up on her. "I could use your assistance in knowing where you have looked. Then perhaps it be wise that I approach her first and you hang back. It might be best that I be the first one she sees. After we've established that she knows who I am and has anything she like to say to me you can come see her."

The mother hated to break her daughters spirit but somethings are meant to be said in private which was why she was thankful no one else was around to hear the words between she and Cayden, or between she and Maylin. Mikayla would be no different. The phantom wanted to allow all of her children equal chances to air their grievances about her and what had happened. "I have missed you so much my daughter.." Words were spoken as softly as a whisper as she nuzzled against her daughter, salmon colored tongue reaching out to groom the girls crown. Reestablishing that connection that had been lost for so long, but never forgotton.

Her mother nuzzled against her and Maylin could feel her Mother's physique. She was strong, she had always heard stories of her Mother and Father in the past when they were the Alpha's on this land. She had little to do with the packs now and so seeing her mother up close was her first real encounter of an Alpha female.

Hearing that her mother was staying made her grin but she worried but the conditional nature of it. She worried her father or brother would want her mother to leave before she had a real chance to get to know her. But Maylin hoped that if she spoke to them they might she reason or at least have to agree to let her mother stay if only for her.

But her mother soon dampened her mood by making it clear she didn't want her there when she found Mikayla. She could tell it was not for malicious reasons but it still hurt considering the time she spent looking for both of them. " If.. if that's what you want. " she said now unsure what to do regarding her sister.

Her mother licked her crown and she nuzzled into her mother's neck. The memories of her mother were faint but it seemed with every passing second she remembered more and more. A strange land she knew wasn't home, her and her siblings together with their mother and another male, not her father but someone else.

She had so many questions but she feared that now was not the right time. She did not want to push her mother away by asking difficult questions before they had truly gotten to know one another. " Where have you been all these years? I want to know everything. " Maylin asked in an excited way rather than an angry way. She wanted to hear every story, to know who her mother was without the biased opinions of others affecting her view of her.

Eclipse sighed to herself when she heard the disappointment within her daughters voice. She pulled her head back to look at the girl directly into the eye. "My dear, I have spent so much time a part from all three of you. Cayden did not welcome me the way you have. While I do not know how she will react to seeing me, I would like to see her alone, even if you find her and lead her back here. We are going to work as a team to find her but she and I will have to meet in private the way you and I have here."

Violet eyes took in the emerald orbs of Maylins, while she did not want to damage their relationship, the woman felt it best and lying was not something she was about to do. This was her daughter and she deserved the truth as much as Cayden or Mikayla.
