Zigan to my knowledge isn't dead, he was brought back though the thread fell short due to activity issues. As far as threads that have been roleplayed go, he is very much alive though that's subject to the player now.
On the matter of Zigan's leave, it's a shame and I wish you all the best. Should you feel inclined to bring him back, don't hesitate.
